In my own life I have three black children. As a result, it is imperative to me Holladay City remain open and accessible to all human beings— regardless of their race, religion or ethnicity —and I honor the work of any individual advancing the cause of racial justice in Utah, regardless of their respective political parties. One such individual is Senator Jake Anderegg (R-Lehi) who was a tremendous ally, advocate and supporter of the non-White members of our Utah State legislature. Jake worked closely with Rep. Sandra Hollins (D-west valley) and others to stop bills targeting our State’s African American and non white populations. He also worked closely with Rep. Sandra Hollins to remove portions of our state constitution supporting slavery.

I honor Senator Jake Anderegg’s service to our Utah community and wish Anderegg well with his new endeavors. I also support ANY elected official advancing the cause of racial justice and inclusion in the State of Utah, regardless of their party affiliation.
